Is your budget limiting your options?
When a new lift exceeds what the project can absorb, you start looking for alternatives. But a pre-owned unit without a genuine inspection is a risk to occupant safety and a source of repeated breakdowns. The real question is not whether second-hand is cheaper, but whether it is right for this specific building.
We inspect the pre-owned unit component by component, replace worn ropes, sensors and safety devices, and renew the cabin and doors. Anything that does not meet the required standard is changed before installation begins. The process ends with a tested unit whose condition is fully documented.
What is checked and renewed?
- Inspecting the machine and controller
- Renewing the cabin and doors
- Testing safety devices and ropes
- Balancing and commissioning the unit

Is a pre-owned lift right for you?
Small residential building
Low-rise buildings with moderate daily use are often a good match for a refurbished unit, though the site visit confirms this.
Budget-constrained project
When the budget is tight, a refurbished unit can make installation viable without compromising on the essential safety requirements.
Non-standard shaft
If the shaft dimensions are unusual, the site inspection decides whether a matching pre-owned unit exists or whether a new lift is the more practical option.

- Setting the maintenance schedule

Periodic maintenance

Questions every buyer asks
What decides the price of a refurbished pre-owned unit?
The unit's condition before refurbishment, the number of parts that need replacing and your shaft dimensions all affect the final cost. No accurate figure is possible before inspecting the unit and visiting the site, because every building presents different requirements.
How much disruption will fitting a pre-owned unit cause to the building?
The duration of disruption depends on the building's condition, the existing shaft and whether any structural adjustments are needed. The site visit is what sets the actual work sequence and tells you what impact to expect on residents or tenants.
Will the installation cause damage or heavy noise in the building?
Installation involves some noise and building work around the shaft area. How much depends on the existing conditions, and what your building specifically requires becomes clear during the site visit.
Is a pre-owned unit safe for my family or tenants?
A refurbished unit with replaced safety devices, ropes and sensors that has passed full testing is a different proposition from one sold as-is. The actual safety level is determined by what was genuinely inspected and replaced, which we document in a written report before handover.
How do I judge whether a company fitting a pre-owned unit is trustworthy?
Ask for a written report of what was inspected and what was replaced before any contract is signed. A company that avoids that detail or speaks only in generalities is worth pausing over. We present this report during the site visit and go through it with you before you decide.

Questions about used elevators
What is the difference between a refurbished used lift and one sold as-is?
A refurbished unit goes through a full inspection and worn parts such as ropes, sensors and safety devices are replaced, and the cabin is renewed. A unit sold as-is skips those steps and whatever needs repair remains the buyer's responsibility.
Does a pre-owned lift suit any building?
Not necessarily. The shaft dimensions, pit requirements and number of floors determine which unit fits. That is why we cannot give a reliable answer before visiting the site and taking precise measurements.
What warranty comes with a pre-owned lift?
The warranty details for a pre-owned unit we refurbish and install are confirmed when the contract is signed, because they depend on the unit's condition and what was renewed.
When is a new lift the better choice over a pre-owned one?
If the building runs at high intensity all day, the shaft dimensions are unusual or the project calls for specific requirements, a new lift may cost less over time. We will say so plainly after the site visit.
Can a pre-owned unit be installed in a building under construction or only in an existing one?
Both are possible. A building under construction allows the shaft dimensions to be adjusted to match an available unit, which widens the options. In an existing building the dimensions are fixed and the choice is narrower. The site visit determines what works in either case.
How do I know the replacement parts fitted during refurbishment are of adequate quality?
We use spare parts that match the original unit's specification and document every replacement in a written report. The materials and their quality are shown to you during the site visit.
Does your service include periodic maintenance after the pre-owned lift is installed?
Yes, we follow up after commissioning and provide periodic maintenance for units we have installed. The maintenance schedule and scope are set out in the contract according to the unit's condition and the building's needs.
